Capitulo 9

Maria came into class with Paul slowly trailing after her. She didn't know what to say. He looked fine, but she sensed that he didn't really like the kiss. She really wanted to go back and not kiss Chris. But he is a great kisser. She didn't know what she wanted right now. She liked both of them even though she knew that they were probably around her to make her look bad once they do something to her. She was not the type of person that had guys liking her, let alone 2 VERY hot guys after her.
She was still thinking about it when she sat down that she didn't even notice Paul sit next to her.
When Miranda came in, Maria was finally somewhat coherent. Miranda did not say anything but she did give Maria a weird look and sat down on the other side of Maria.
<Why is Paul sitting next to you? What happened at lunch today? I sensed some tension between the 3 of you today.?
Miranda passed the note to Maria so that Paul would not see it.
Maria wrote back, she handed the paper back to Miranda with such force that her hand had turned beet red.


"Maria, what in the world are you talking about? People adore you, even if you don't see it. The popular kids are just jealous. Have you seen the looks they give you dyed your hair. You look AMAZING. Anyone who tells you different is blind. You're the nicest person I know. You survived because you fought for survival. This time you will not fight for survival because there will be no need for a fight. If you want I'll talk to both of them and then I'll tell you if they're in this to hurt you or not. I know without even talking to them that they do not want to hurt you.>


Maria took the and crumpled it up and threw it in the recycling bin behind her. She was not up to talking anymore.
She felt Paul sitting next to her quietly. She wondered what he was thinking. Whether he really liked her or was just with her to hurt her.
She the realized that the entire classroom was writing in their notebook. 'Answering questions, probably.'
She got up and walked to Mrs. Smith's desk. She saw Maria and Paul look at her.
"Excuse me, Mrs. Smith. I really don`t feel very well, do you mind if I leave early and go home."
"Do you have all the questions for the assignment?"
"Yes, I do Mrs. Smith."
"OK. Go get your stuff and you can leave quietly."
"Thank you very much."
As Maria turned around and went to her desk to get her books she saw that both Miranda and Paul were looking at her like they didn't take their eyes away during her conversation with Mrs. Smith.
"What's going on?" Miranda whispered to her as she got her stuff.
"Nothing. I'm just not feeling well, that's all. I'll talk to you tonight after work."

When she walked out of the main doors of the school she saw Chris walking toward her.
"What are you doing here?" She asked him.
"Well, my meeting was canceled and I thought that I could come and wait for you here."
"But classes don't end until 3:30 and it's 1:30. You would've waited 2 hours for me?"
"Why not. How come you're not in class?"
"I wasn't feeling well so I was gonna go home."
"Are you OK? You wont faint, will you?"
"I'm fine, don't worry. I won't faint. I'm fine physically."
"Yes, you are." he muttered so that she barely heard him "So do you need a ride home?"
Looking back at the school, she saw Miranda at the door.
"Sure, I need a ride."
And she went to his car.
